My Writing Journey

I began writing in earnest in 2016. Foolishly, I assumed a lifetime of work-related ‘business’ writing would be enough to write fiction. No, no, no! My first novel, ‘Jelly’ was roundly rejected by every publisher I sent it to, and is likely to stay in a drawer for ever more.

Perseverance and a willingness to learn are my biggest tips for emerging writers. Attend courses, workshops, seek out mentors and, most importantly, get professional editorial support. These guys know what they’re doing and can make a novel shine. I often wonder if they might even be able to resurrect ‘Jelly’!

Check out my new blog ‘The Sage’ and ‘The Seeker’ - characteristics of authors and readers.

Thank you to everyone who has supported and encouraged me. I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for you. Onwards and upwards.
